Reference books for English Language
English is mandatory in all departmental posts conducted by IBPS. Reading Comprehension, Spotting the Errors, Synonyms, Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Jumble Words, Para Jumbles, Close Test, Idioms and Phrases, Phrase Substitution, Grammar etc are important. If you master these, you will get a good score in English. ‘English Grammar and Composition - Wren and Martin, Word Power Made Easy- Lewis Norman, RS Aggarwal and Vikas Aggarwal's Objective General English are useful for this.

Reference books for Quantitative aptitude
This section is also common in the Preliminary and Main exams. Questions will be from arithmetic topics including Simplifications, Approximate Values, Number Series, Quadratic Equations, Data Sufficiency, Data Interpretation, Permutation-Combinations, Probability. 'Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Examination' by RS Aggarwal for the Quantitative Aptitude, 'Arithmetic for General Competitions' by Neetu Singh is recommendable.

Reference books for Reasoning? Ability!

Both Prelims and mains contain this section. So it would be better to read in such a way that helps for both the exams. Reasoning Ability includes Coding, Decoding, Direction Test, Blood Relation,Seating Arrangement, Puzzles, Input and Output, Decision Making, Symbols and Notations, Data Sufficiency, Critical Reasoning. With regard to this section, "A Modern Approach to Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning-RS Aggarwal, A New Approach to Reasoning by B. S. Sijwali and Indu Sijwali, Logical Reasoning-K. Kundan, Bank PO / MT Examination Practice Workbook-Arihant Publications are useful.

Reference books for Computer? Knowledge?

It contains History of Computers, Hardware, Software, Database, Networking, Malwares, Number Systems, Abbreviations and Terminology. This section is an integral part of the Reasoning Ability in IBPS Main. Objective Computer Awareness by Soumya Ranjan Behera is useful.

Reference books for General Awareness

Regarding General Awareness, different countries’ currencies, important dates, international airports, ports, national highways, rivers, dams, nuclear power plants, national parks, stadiums, central government policies, international organizations and sports related question are asked. Fundamentals of RBI functioning, monetary policy, nationalization of banks, Universal banking licenses, guidelines, small finance banks, payment banks, regional banking, banking terminology, non-banking financial companies, and the Indian economy related questions are expected.
For the preparation of this section it is very necessary to read dailies and write down the necessary points as notes. India Year Book and Manorama Year Book are useful for this.

Reference books for Data Analysis and Interpretation (Main)

A good study of the ‘Quantitative Aptitude’ section, which is an integral part of the prelims, will help you to get good marks in ‘Data Analysis and Interpretation’ in Main. Pie charts, such as bar graphs, are an addition to data analysis. For this, books written by K. Kundan, ArunSarma about data interpretation are recommendable.

Reference books for Letter and Essay Writing (Main)

This is descriptive section in the PO Main exam. Letter and essay writing are included in the IBPS PO Main Exam to know the English language proficiency of the candidate. To write an essay, you need to know the vocabulary as well as the sentence structure. For this you need to read English dailies.
