The Karnataka government has declared a holiday for schools and colleges and other institutions based in Bengaluru and Mandya districts on September 29 in view of bandh over the Cauvery river water dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Tech companies will have holidays on 30th September (Saturday) and 1st October (Sunday), 2nd October (Monday) is a public holiday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. With this holidays came for four consecutive days. More than 100 organizations have declared their support for this bandh. Hotels, auto rickshaws and hail riders associations in Karnataka are supporting this band.
Metro services, banks and government offices, hospitals and pharmacies will remain open .
