Half-Day Schools in Telangana from Nov 6th: Here’s Why
The reason behind this adjustment is the commencement of a comprehensive caste census in Telangana, which is set to begin on November 6. To conduct this census effectively, the government has engaged 36,559 Secondary Grade Teachers and 3,414 Primary School Headmasters, along with an additional 8,000 other staff members. As a result, all primary schools in the state will switch to a half-day schedule until the census is complete.
Teachers to Visit Homes for Census
Teachers will be required to work in schools from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, after which they will visit households to conduct the caste census. The government has assigned census officers and a supervisory officer for every 150 households, where they will collect data using a 50-question survey. Special kits have been provided to assist with the data collection process. According to BC Commission Chairman Niranjan, public data collection for the census will continue until November 13.
