Education Minister Lokesh announced that Dussehra holidays for schools will begin from October 3, 2024. He made this decision following a review of school education and requests from teachers and various associations to start the holidays a day earlier.
The holidays will last until October 13, giving a total of 10 days off, from October 3 to October 13, 2024.

Key Holidays for 2024-25 Academic Year:
- Dussehra Holidays: October 3 to October 13, 2024.
- Dussehra Holidays for Christian Minority Institutions: October 11 to October 13, 2024.
- Diwali Holiday: October 31, 2024.
- Christmas Holiday: December 25, 2024 (for Christian Minority Institutions: December 20 to December 29, 2024).
- Sankranti Holidays: January 10 to January 19, 2025.

Telangana Dussehra School Holidays 2024:
The Telangana Education Department has announced Dussehra holidays for all government and private schools from October 2 to October 14, 2024. Schools will reopen on October 15. After the holidays, Summative Assessment exams will be conducted, and school principals have been instructed to assign homework related to the exams.
