CTET 2022 Subject-Wise Preparation Tips!

CTET December 2022 notification has been released and Online Application Dates start from October 31 – November 24, 2022. CTET Exam will be held in December or January in CBT mode. Candidates can visit Website https://ctet.nic.in and apply online.
CTET guidance

CTET - Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2022 is the National Level Teacher Eligibility Test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).  If BEd and DEd students qualify in CTET, they get a chance to enter the teaching profession in CBSE, NCTE, Central Govt schools.

Below is the subject-wise preparation guidance for CTET 2022.

Child Development and Pedagogy

  • This section contains basic level questions on Educational Psychology related to teaching and learning.
  • Candidates should focus mainly on topics related to Child Psychology.
  • Stages of development, aspects of development such as physical, mental, social, emotional development etc. should be read thoroughly.
  • Learning and learning transfer factors related to change in child behavior should be studied.
  • While studying psychology, the key concepts, technical terms, theories-principles, proposed scientists, their texts etc. should be read analytically.
  • Pedagogy is the science of teaching.
  • Inclusive Education, Child Curriculum, Teaching Methods, Assessment-Leadership-Guidance-Counseling should be studied.
  • A thorough understanding of the laws related to education should be developed.
  • If the concepts, theories and rules of pedagogy are analyzed and studied, all the questions can be answered.

Language papers

Candidates should thoroughly read the school level subject books related to the respective language sections to excel in the Language-1 section which is conducted in the language they want to teach. More people are choosing English as Language-2. In English, you should increase your understanding of all the topics like parts of speech, articles, direct and indirect speech, degrees of comparison, vocabulary. Candidates should select and read a specific standard book. Questions will come on teaching methods, approaches, techniques, language skills, English background related to pedagogy.

Mathematics
In Paper-1, questions will be asked on the concepts of Class I to V. In Paper-2, questions will be asked on the concepts of Class VI to VIII.

Environmental Studies
In order to excel in this paper, one should focus on the basics of botany as well as environmental issues and science in daily life.

Science
For securing good marks in this section books from third to eighth class should be studied. For paper-2 read books specially from 6th to 10th class. It can be said that the questions in this section were somewhat difficult in the last CTET. So candidates should study the basics and applications of those subjects separately.

Social Studies
From sixth to eighth standard textbooks should be read thoroughly. When studying a region in geography one should study all aspects related to it. Focus more on climate, geographical conditions, rivers etc. Similarly, subjects of Civics and Economics should be studied by updating them with contemporary developments.
