If BEd and DEd students qualify in CTET, they get a chance to enter the teaching profession in CBSE, NCTE, Central Govt schools. Recently, CBSE has released a notification regarding CTET-December-2022.

CTET December 2022 Important Dates:

CBSE conducts the CTET exam in two papers (Paper-1 and Paper-2). Those who want to teach class I to V have to appear for Paper-1. Candidates for teaching classes 6th to 8th have to pass Paper-2. Those who wish to teach at both levels have to appear for both papers and qualify.

CTET Educational Qualifications

Paper-1: Pass with 50% marks in Intermediate/Equivalent course with two years Diploma in Elementary Education or four years Bachelor of Education or two years Diploma in Education (Special Education). (or)
Must have passed Bachelor Degree with 50% marks. Besides this, they should have passed BEd or BEd Special Education.
As per NCTE guidelines, BEd candidates are also considered eligible for SGT posts. With this, BEd students are also eligible for CTET Paper-1.

Paper-2 Eligibility
Bachelor of Education (BEd) or Bachelor of Education (Special Education) with 50% marks in BA/BSc/BCom or four years BA Education/B.Sc. Education. OR Passed four years BA BEd/ B.Sc BEd with 50% marks.

Those who have passed BE/B.Tech with 50% marks and are studying BEd/BEd (Special Education) are also eligible to apply.

CTET

CTET Exam Pattern

CTET Paper-1 exam will be for 150 marks in five sections.

CTET Paper-2 will be conducted for 150 marks in duration of two and half hours. The examination will be completely objective in all the five sections.

In Language-1 category candidates have to appear in the medium in which they want to teach. A total of 20 languages ​​are available.

CTET Minimum qualifying marks

Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in CTET Paper-1 and Paper-2. General category candidates should pass with minimum sixty percent marks (90 marks). BC category candidates should get 50 percent marks (70 marks) and SC/ST/PWD category candidates should get 40 percent marks (60 marks).

Lifetime Validity
Once qualified in CTET, the score is recognized for life time. So, once you pass this exam, you can compete for teaching jobs at any time.
