Sakshi Education
The Punjab government has extended the winter holidays for schools across the state due to the ongoing cold wave. As per the latest announcement, all government-aided, recognized, and private schools in Punjab will remain closed until January 7, 2025.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains shared the update on social media platform X, stating that the decision was made following directives from the Hon’ble Chief Minister. Schools are set to reopen on January 8.
Initially, the winter break was scheduled from December 24 to December 31, 2024. However, the severity of the cold wave prompted the government to extend the holidays, prioritizing the safety and well-being of students.
This decision is welcomed by students, parents, and school staff, offering much-needed relief during this harsh winter. Meanwhile, the government urges citizens to take precautions to stay safe and warm during the cold wave.
