Schools Closed in Bengaluru: IMD Issues Orange Alert as Heavy Rains Continue

The alert was issued as a precaution due to the intensifying rainfall that began early Tuesday, resulting in severe waterlogging and traffic disruptions in various parts of the city. To minimize the impact of the extreme weather, the government has advised companies to allow employees to work from home.

While schools and anganwadi centers in the Bengaluru district will remain closed, colleges will stay open. However, college administrations have been given safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of students on campus. Many schools are shifting to online classes for higher-grade students, while younger students have been assigned work to complete at home during the closure.

Additionally, Thursday, October 17, is a state holiday in observance of Valmiki Jayanti, providing students and staff with an extended break.
