JoSAA Counselling Schedule 2024: Check Category-wise Cutoff Marks
The JEE Advanced exam, held on the 26th of last month for admissions to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), saw IIT Madras conducting the examination. The results were announced on Sunday.

Increased Cutoff
The cutoff percentile for eligibility in JEE Advanced has increased this year:
- General Category Cutoff: 93.2 percentile (2023: 90.7, 2022: 88.4)
- Minimum Marks for Qualification:
- Open Category: 109 marks
- Reservation Category: 54 marks
- Open Category Qualification: Minimum of 8.68% marks in each subject and an aggregate of 30.34% marks.
JoSAA Counseling Schedule 2024
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will commence the counseling process for admissions into IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs from Monday. Mock counseling will be held until the 17th to familiarize students with the process.
The counseling schedule is as follows:
- Registrations and Option Selection: From June 18th
- First Phase: June 20th
- Second Phase: June 27th
- Third Phase: July 4th
- Fourth Phase: July 10th
- Final Phase: July 17th
- Counseling for Remaining Seats: July 23rd (if any seats remain)
Seats in IITs are allotted based on ranks in the JEE Advanced exam, while seats in other central engineering colleges are based on JEE Main ranks. This year, 121 educational institutions are participating in JoSAA counseling, up from 114 last year. In the academic year 2023-24, there were 17,385 seats available across 23 IITs, with the number expected to increase this year.
