The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the second edition of its flagship AICTE-VAANI scheme, aimed at promoting Indian languages in technical education. Under this initiative, AICTE will provide ₹4 crore to fund 200 conferences, seminars, and workshops in 22 regional languages on emerging technical fields. The scheme seeks to enhance accessibility to the latest technological advancements by making knowledge available in local languages.

What is AICTE-VAANI Scheme?

The AICTE-VAANI scheme, first launched on March 11, 2024, promotes research and innovation in technical education by encouraging the publication of research papers in regional languages. The second edition of the scheme aims to foster collaboration between academic institutions and industries while enhancing knowledge dissemination in local languages.

AICTE Chairperson, Prof. TG Sitharam, emphasized that VAANI seeks to build a strong knowledge base in regional languages and make cutting-edge technological developments accessible to a broader audience. AICTE Vice Chairman, Dr. Abhay Jere, highlighted the importance of critical thinking and problem-solving, regardless of the language of instruction.

Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.

AICTE-approved institutions can apply online between March 25 and April 24, 2025, through the AICTE-ATAL portal. Applications will be evaluated based on AICTE’s selection criteria to ensure quality and relevance in organizing conferences, seminars, or workshops.
