UGC Open Distance Learning and Online Programme 2024-25

The University Grants Commission (UGC) invites applications from eligible Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to offer programs through Open Distance Learning (ODL) and/or Online modes for the academic year 2024-25, starting in February 2025.

Who can Apply?

  • HEIs following Regulation 3(A) and 3(B) (b) of the UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020 (and amendments).
  • Important Note: There are exceptions for specific categories of HEIs who have year-round application windows (details below).

Application Process:

  • Online Application: Submit your application electronically through the UGC DEB website: https://deb.ugc.ac.in/
  • Hard Copy Submission: A certified hard copy of your application, along with an original affidavit and annexures, must reach the Joint Secretary, Distance Education Bureau, UGC, 35, Feroze Shah Road, New Delhi -110001

Important Dates:

  • Closing date of online registration: October 31, 2024 
  • Last date for submission of hard copy of application: November 15, 2024

Additional Information:

  • Application fees and further updates are available on the UGC DEB website: https://deb.ugc.ac.in/
  • Submission of an application doesn't guarantee approval. All applications will be reviewed based on the regulations.

Exceptions for Year-Round Applications:

  • HEIs entitled to offer Online Programs under Regulation 3(B)(a) of the UGC regulations (2020 and amendments).
  • Category-I HEIs notified by UGC for offering ODL programs.
