The University Grants Commission (UGC) invites applications from eligible Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to offer programs through Open Distance Learning (ODL) and/or Online modes for the academic year 2024-25, starting in February 2025.

Who can Apply?

HEIs following Regulation 3(A) and 3(B) (b) of the UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020 (and amendments).
Important Note: There are exceptions for specific categories of HEIs who have year-round application windows (details below).

Application Process:

Online Application: Submit your application electronically through the UGC DEB website: https://deb.ugc.ac.in/
Hard Copy Submission: A certified hard copy of your application, along with an original affidavit and annexures, must reach the Joint Secretary, Distance Education Bureau, UGC, 35, Feroze Shah Road, New Delhi -110001

Important Dates:

Closing date of online registration: October 31, 2024
Last date for submission of hard copy of application: November 15, 2024

Submission of an application doesn't guarantee approval. All applications will be reviewed based on the regulations.

Exceptions for Year-Round Applications:

HEIs entitled to offer Online Programs under Regulation 3(B)(a) of the UGC regulations (2020 and amendments).
Category-I HEIs notified by UGC for offering ODL programs.
