EAMCET 2022 Admissions: A fine of Rs.10 lakh for each illegally allotted engineering seat!
The Telangana State Admissions and Fees Control Committee (TSAFRC) has expressed its displeasure at the engineering colleges for charging high fees and committing irregularities in the allotment of B category seats in TS EAMCET 2022 Admissions.

The committee convened under the chairmanship of Chairman Justice P. Swarup Reddy has decided to take action against the colleges that collect high fees. The committee decided to impose a fine of Rs. 2 lakhs per seat on the colleges that charged high fees and decided to impose a fine of Rs. 10 lakhs on each seat allotted illegally. At the same time, it has informed the colleges that the excessive fees collected from the students should be returned.

The committee has decided to examine the process of the B category seats allotted so far. TS AFRC has insisted to allot seats to those students who have merit but did not get a seat.
Telangana government has recently finalized the fees in 159 engineering colleges as per the recommendations of AFRC. According to this, the minimum fee in colleges is being increased to ₹45 thousand. In 40 colleges across the state, the fee has crossed Rs. 1 lakh.
