Guidelines on the Interview Day

Unlike written examination in interview one’s 3 dimensional presence is required. One has to be very mindful of his body, dress and his facial expressions.

Guidelines on the Interview day:
Dress:
Should be neat and formal without any hi-fi to distract the attention.
  • When one enters the room he should gently knock the door & ask the permission of the interviewers. Mistake usually done - one enters the room & then asks the permission like “May I come in sir”. Avoid this as you are already in.
  • Walk confidently to the interview table and don’t just sit on the chair on your own, unless the interview panel asks you to sit.
  • Sit in a comfortable posture – don’t lean on the interview table or slack back – but body be straight & relaxed, hand placed on your right thighs. This posture helps you to be flexible in making gesticulations (hand movements)
  • Let your face be smiling or wear a smile on your face.
  • If interview is taken by 2-3 persons see that you make eye contact with every one, if a question is asked by one person look pleasantly into his eyes and answer the question while you glance (quick look) at others in the panel.
  • The common mistake made by the candidates is they look up or look down or they are defocused. Avoid this.
  • Be very confident when you are answering the questions and remember that interview is not a question answer session. If you don’t know the answer to a particular question, with cool confident smile say that you don’t know the answer. This shows your honesty.
  • See that your bio-data is kept simple and truthful as many of the questions are asked based on your bio-data.
