AP TET 2024 Exam Centers Issue: A Challenging Test for Candidates!
While some candidates qualify for both AP TET Paper 1A and 1B, they've been assigned centers in different districts for each paper. This presents a significant challenge as it makes it nearly impossible to take both exams on the same day. In February, the previous government conducted the TET exam. The current government, under the banner of TET-2024 (July), has issued another notification allowing newly qualified B.Ed. or D.Ed. candidates to participate.

Many candidates are eligible for multiple papers, but upon checking their hall tickets, issued on September 21, they were surprised to find centers in different districts for each paper. Instead of assigning centers within the same district or city for both papers, some candidates found themselves assigned centers in different districts, and in some cases, even different states. For example, some candidates were assigned one center in Eluru for the morning paper and another in Kakinada, 155 kilometers away, for the afternoon paper. Others were sent to distant locations like Bengaluru, raising questions about the fairness of the process.

The AP TET exams are scheduled from October 3 to 21, and they will be conducted entirely online. Only selected engineering colleges and approved centers in each district will host the exams. The School Education Department made hall tickets available online on September 21, but many candidates were left disheartened when they saw their assigned centers in different districts.
Three candidates from Eluru district, for instance, found that although they were supposed to take Paper 1A and 1B in their district, their centers were split: one in Eluru in the morning and the other in Kakinada or Vijayawada in the afternoon.

The language of the medium also became an issue for some candidates. Even though they changed their medium of instruction to Telugu during the application editing period, their hall tickets still showed English as the medium. This has left many Telugu-medium candidates worried about how they will manage to take the exam in English.
The government must respond promptly and make necessary changes to ensure candidates are assigned centers within their own districts. The issue of Telugu-medium candidates receiving English-medium hall tickets must also be addressed by providing another opportunity to edit their details.

Examples of Inconvenience:
- A candidate from Prakasam district was assigned a center in Guntur, 110 kilometers away.
- A candidate from East Godavari was assigned a center in Vijayawada.
- A candidate from Anantapur district, who applied to take the Paper 2A (Maths and Science) in Telugu medium, received a hall ticket showing the medium as English.
