Candidates from Manyam and Alluri Seetha Rama Raju (ASR) districts will be accommodated in nearby districts. The primary goal of the Teacher Eligibility Test is to uphold national standards and benchmarks for teacher quality in the recruitment process, as stipulated by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Passing the TET conducted by the Department of School Education is a mandatory qualification for those seeking appointment as teachers in government and private schools covered under the RTE Act.

AP TET July 2024 Notification Details:

Applications: Online applications for APTET July 2024 are invited from candidates aspiring to become teachers in State Government, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Municipality, A.P. Model Schools, A.P. Residential Schools, Welfare Society Schools, Private Aided Schools, and Private Un-aided schools for classes I to VIII. The RTE Act, enacted on 27.08.2009, mandates that teachers for classes I to VIII must pass the TET as per NCTE guidelines issued on 23rd August 2010, and subsequent amendments.

Eligibility: Candidates with D.EL.Ed./B.Ed. or equivalent qualifications, as well as those in the final semester of these courses with the requisite percentage of marks, can appear for APTET July 2024. Candidates aiming to teach in private unaided schools following the Central or State syllabus can choose to appear for the CTET conducted by the Central Government through CBSE instead of APTET. Candidates wishing to improve their APTET score may also apply for APTET July 2024.

Exam Format: APTET July 2024 will be conducted as a CBT in four papers: Paper-1A, Paper-1B, Paper-2A, and Paper-2B. Candidates intending to teach classes I to V must appear for Paper-1A, while those intending to teach classes VI to VIII must appear for Paper-2A. Candidates wishing to teach classes I to V in Special Education Schools must take Paper-1B, and those intending to teach classes VI to VIII in Special Education Schools must take Paper-2B. Candidates with both D.El.Ed. and B.Ed. qualifications aiming to teach classes I to VIII can appear for all four papers.

Fees: The application fee for each paper (Paper-1A, Paper-1B, Paper-2A, Paper-2B) is Rs. 750. Candidates must pay the fee through the payment gateway from 03.07.2024 to 16.07.2024 and submit their online application at the APTET website http://cse.ap.gov.in from 04.07.2024 to 17.07.2024. Note that if a candidate wants to apply for all four papers, they must pay Rs. 750 per paper.

Application Procedure: Detailed instructions for applying online are provided in the Information Bulletin, available for free download from the APTET website starting 02.07.2024. Candidates can submit their applications online from 04.07.2024 to 17.07.2024. Once submitted, applications cannot be edited or modified. Corrections or modifications require a new application with an additional fee of Rs. 750 within the due date.

Examination Centers: APTET July 2024 will be conducted online in 24 districts of Andhra Pradesh, excluding Manyam and ASR districts. Candidates from these districts can select examination centers in nearby districts. Examination centers will be allocated based on a first-come, first-serve basis, and once selected, cannot be changed. If a candidate does not choose a center by the specified date, the department will assign a center. Preference will be given to PHC candidates by accommodating them in the same district.

Pass Criteria: The pass marks for APTET July 2024 are:
- OC: 60% and above
- BC: 50% and above
- SC/ST/Differently abled (PH) & Ex-servicemen: 40% and above
Validity: APTET Certificate/Marks Memo is valid for life, as per NCTE guidelines dated 09.06.2021. Certificates issued before this date are also valid for life. The certificate will be available in DigiLocker.
Weightage: APTET scores will carry 20% weightage in the Teacher Recruitment of the State Government, with 80% weightage given to the written test in the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT).
Normalization: Normalization techniques will be used for the APTET 2024 scores.
