Telangana: 22 per cent attendance on reopening day- Government thinks of vaccination at public and private colleges

All educational institutions except Gurukuls and welfare hostels were reopened In Telangana. According to government figures, 27.45 per cent of students in government schools and 18.35 per cent in private schools were enrolled on the first day. Overall, the average attendance did not exceed 22, officials said. Of the 405 inter-colleges in the state, 16,907 were for 97,520 first-time students and 12,687 for 84,038 for secondary. Vaccination for all students of 18 years and above

The government has focused on giving corona vaccinations to students above the age of 18 in the wake of the opening of colleges. The Department of Medical Health has decided to set up mobile centers at public and private colleges and vaccinate to prevent the spread of the virus. Expert warnings continue on third wave in the country.

There are an estimated 3 lakh students over the age of 18 in higher education institutions. The Department of Medical Health has decided to vaccinate those who have not yet been vaccinated as soon as possible.

Vaccination in all hostels

It has been decided to vaccinate in hostels belonging to universities, engineering, medical colleges and other institutions of higher learning. Vaccinations are also given in dormitories and private hostels for 20–30 people. If there is a hostel affiliated to any private college, if information is given, they will also go there in a mobile vehicle and carry out vaccination. Officials say arrangements are being made to provide the vaccine wherever possible.

Here are some more guidelines recently issued by the Department of Medical Health

  • Students boarding school and college buses must wear masks.
  • If possible make sure only one person is seated in a seat.
  • Lunch time should be different. So that students do not form in groups. Sanitation should be done in all hostels every day.
  • Students with symptoms such as fever cough and cold should be kept in the isolation rooms of the hostels immediately, should inform to the government hospitals if necessary.
