Online classes resume: What after Jan 30?
Online, distance education classes will be allowed from Monday (24th). Orders to this effect were issued on the 22nd of January. The orders state that 50 per cent of the teaching and non-teaching staff should attend in rotation. School HMs are advised to take care of the management of online classes.
It is known that the government has announced Sankranthi holidays from January 8 to 16. However, with the Covid cases on the rise, the holidays has been extended until January 30. If the situation is good, they want to start classes from January 31. However, a recent household survey by the government found that the number of students with Covid cases and symptoms was higher. District education officials have sent reports that the sanitation process in schools is at an all-time low.
Medical officials also say the prevalence will be higher if Covid cases rise in educational institutions. Officials say parents are not ready to send students even when schools are open. Education officials have decided to review the whole affair and conduct online classes.
