The University Grants Commission has launched some new degree courses in the country. It has also modified the course duration of some programs.
UGC has also made changes in the qualifications of various degree programs. It has announced new procedures in this regard. A notification has been issued regarding this. UGC announces nine new courses in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Design for Inter and Degree passed students.
For Intermediate/ Class 12 pass students
- Bachelor of Fashion Technology,
- Bachelor of Urban Design (Duration: four years),
- Bachelor of Sports Management,
- Bachelor of Sports Sciences (Duration: three years) .
It also announces two-year Masters degree programs in Fashion, Technology, Fashion Management, Urban Design, Sports Management and Sports Science for graduates. It is up to the universities to decide when to run these courses.
The MCA is for only 2 years
- According to the latest UGC notification, the duration of the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course, which has been three years, has been reduced to two years.
- Also the duration of Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) course has been increased from four years to four and a half years.
- UGC is introducing a new Bachelor of Sova Rigpa Medicine and Surgery (BSRMMS) course for students who want to enter the medical field after passing Class XII. The duration of this course is five and a half years. This BSRMS course is offered in the fields of Medicine, Surgery, Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Health Allied Sciences, Pharmacy, Paramedical, Nursing etc.
