కేంద్రక సంలీన ప్రక్రియ (న్యూక్లియర్ ఫ్యుజన్)లో తమ కృత్రిమ సూర్యుడు కొత్త రికార్డు సృష్టించినట్టు దక్షిణ కొరియాకు చెందిన శాస్త్రవేత్తలు వెల్లడించారు. కొరియన్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ ఫ్యుజన్ ఎనర్జీలోని కేస్టార్(దీనినే కృత్రిమ సూర్యుడు అని పిలుస్తారు)లో అణు సంలీయ ప్రక్రియ ద్వారా 48 సెకన్ల పాటు 100 మిలియన్ డిగ్రీ సెల్సియస్ల ఉష్ణోగ్రతను ఉత్పత్తి చేసినట్టు ప్రకటించారు.
