Study: The NFP offers the following options:
Individual fellowships for:
Scholarship for Excellent Indian Engineering Students
The TU Delft, Faculty of Applied Sciences is offering a scholarship for an outstanding Indian applicant covering all tuition fees, worth approximately € 25,000 for a 2-year MSc programme (2011-2013).

Scholarship Offer
The Amsterdam Business School (ABS) offers 2 scholarships:
- one 50% tuition waiver of € 14.500for the fulltime MBA programme.
- one 50% tuition waiver of € 13.000for the fulltime Master in International Finance programme (MIF).
As the tuition fee is higher than the scholarship, students are responsible for the payment of the remaining tuition fee.

Erasmus Mundus Europe Asia Scholarship
EMEA facilitates academic interaction between Europe and India and gives researchers, students and staff the opportunity to attend one of the partner universities via a scholarship covering their expenses.This scholarship programme is for students on undergraduate, master, doctoral and post-doctoral level as well as for university staff in academic or administrative positions, financed by the European Commission.

Scholarships launched by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)
ICCR recently decided to launch new schemes for junior scholars and academicians from established universities in The Netherlands.

  • Junior Fellowship
    PhD and Post Doctoral research scholars who are keen to carry out field work research activities in India in connection with their existing projects will be eligible for grant of Junior Fellowship. The fellowship will include an allowance of US $ 1000/- per month in addition to international air fare by economy class.
  • Academic Visitor Programme (AVP)
    Under this programme, reputed academicians will be invited to visit India for a period of 7 - 10 days. The selected academician will be provided single international air fare by economy class with local hospitality and programme in India being arranged by ICCR.
  • Study Visits by Indian Scholars Abroad
    Under this programme, Indian scholars seeking to pursue attachments with universities in the Netherlands for field/research would be provided US $ 2000 per month along with international air fare by economy class for a period of 3 months by ICCR.
Applications duly nominated by the University/competent authority may be forwarded to the Embassy of India.

Debesh-Kamal Scholarship:
The Debesh-Kamal scholarships are awarded by the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Kolkata. They are awarded to Indian students who wish to pursue higher studies or research abroad. The scholarship is for a maximum period of 1 year and the amount is approximately rupees 1 lakh.

LSFI Scholarships:
These scholarships are instituted by the Life Science Foundation India with the objective to encourage scholars to demonstrate their ability and intellectual excellence in their chosen areas of specialization. Every year applications will be invited from outstanding students, working persons for Studying / Training / Visiting at any of the foreign Educational Institutes / Universities / Colleges / Centres. These scholarships are not for attending any Scientific meetings / Conferences overseas.

National Overseas Scholarship from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment:
The National Overseas Scholarship from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment allocates funds to deserving candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, De- notified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, Landless Agricultural Laborers and Traditional Artisans for furthering their educational career in a country outside India.

Besides the forementioned scholarships there are other forms of financing your stay in Holland, such as scholarships for specific study areas or university scholarship. Check with your university, the university where you want to study in Holland and the Grantfinder webpage to be informed about all possibilities.

Tuition fees are reasonable in Holland
Education in Holland is not free, but tuition fees are reasonable. The latest Worldwide Cost of Living Survey shows that the cost of living in Amsterdam is modest compared with cities like New York, London, Paris and Beijing.

Working while studying
If you are a foreign student (non-EU/EEA/Swiss) and you have a valid residence permit with the aim to study, you can work alongside your studies. This can be either full-time seasonal work in June, July and August, or part-time work of no more than ten hours a week outside the summer period.
