Admission to BSc Nursing courses through EAMCET from 2022-23 academic year

Admission to BSc Nursing courses will be on the basis of EAMCET rank from the 2022–23 academic year, said Higher Education Council Chairman Professor R Limbadri. He said orders have also been issued in this regard.
It has been revealed that this policy will be implemented from the 2022–23 academic year. He said the Central Government had recently issued guidelines stating that admission to the Nursing course did not work with the National Eligibility Test (NEET) and that it was clear that admissions could be taken through various examinations at the discretion of the states.
In this context, the state government has decided to replace the respective seats through EAMCET ranks.
The Chairman explained that so far admission in the four-year nursing course has been on the basis of Inter (BPC) marks.
The Board of Higher Education has already issued the EAMCET Notification. Applications will be accepted online until May 28.
The notification said that MPC students should write to the Department of Engineering and those who have done BPC should write an EAMCET for admission in Agriculture and Medical courses.
Limbadri said that all the BPC students will have the same exam and after the ranks are announced they will have the opportunity to opt for the nursing‌ course.
There are 81 nursing colleges across the state. Of these, 9 are government colleges and 81 are private colleges. The council said there were a total of 5,300, including 680 seats in government colleges and 4,620 seats in private colleges. About 70 per cent of seats in private engineering colleges are filled under the convenor quota. In nursing courses, 60 per cent of the seats in private colleges are filled by convenors and 40 per cent by management quota. Limbadri said the quota for the economically backward sections and all other reservations would be implemented as per the rules and regulations and the relevant provisions were being considered.
