Telangana Summative Assessment -1 Paper Leaked?

Mahbubnagar: The government is conducting the SA–1 (Summative Assessment) exams in schools. However, there are complaints that many schools are not following the government’s schedule for the exams.
Telangana Summative Assessment -1 Social Paper Leaked?

On Thursday morning, the class 10th social studies question paper and answers were reportedly circulated on social media before the exam, which was scheduled to start at 9:15 a.m. When this matter was brought to the attention of district education officials by the Sakshi representatives, suspicion arose that the paper had been leaked from several private schools in the Bhoothpur area.

Inspections were conducted by the head of the school complex there, but the headmaster stated that there was no leak. The District Common Examination Board (DCEB) of Mahbubnagar, which is overseeing the exams, has been criticized by student unions, who allege that private schools received the paper early.

Involvement of Private Schools

On Thursday, answers related to the question paper given early to some private school students began circulating on social media. Social media also claimed that private school students had passed the paper to government high school students in Bhoothpur. Though these exam marks are not crucial, education officials are treating the leak seriously. Prominent schools in the district are also under scrutiny. With allegations that many schools are not following government guidelines, Thursday saw Area Educational Officer Srinivas inspecting several schools.

Fee Evasion Issues
It’s alleged that some are leaking question papers in advance to help students score higher in 10th grade. Under the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system, each subject has a total of 100 marks, of which 20 are based on various school activities, such as note-taking, projects, formative assessment, and summative assessment exams. Some schools are reportedly leaking these papers in advance so that students can secure the 20 marks, increasing their chances of passing the final exam. Additionally, private schools are allegedly evading exam fees by reporting fewer students and conducting exams for the rest using photocopied papers.

Action Will Be Taken
For the SA–1 exams, the question papers are supposed to be unsealed and distributed only 15 minutes before the exam. However, it appears that Thursday's question paper was leaked early. An inquiry was conducted by the complex headmaster in the suspected schools in Bhoothpur, though the source is still unclear. Actions will be taken based on the HM’s report. Strict measures will be implemented if private schools are found conducting exams in violation of regulations.
