30-Day Action Plan

With the 10th class exams scheduled for March, the department has suggested conducting special classes to prepare government school students. Many schools are already conducting one-hour sessions in the mornings and evenings. Once the syllabus is completed, focus will shift entirely to revision, with particular attention to key and challenging chapters. District education officials have directed headmasters to follow a structured 30-day revision plan.

Challenges in Rural Areas

Teachers, however, are questioning the feasibility of completing the syllabus by January 10. While urban schools have adequate teacher strength, rural areas face significant challenges. Recent reports by DEOs indicate that only 40% of the syllabus has been completed in many schools, with some remote schools lagging at 30% or less.

Teacher Shortages and Delays

Despite the recent DSC recruitments, teacher shortages persist in several areas. Teachers appointed in October faced delays in commencing teaching duties. Additionally, transfers and promotions carried out earlier this academic year caused disruptions, delaying the start of lessons in many schools. Teachers argue that the January 10 deadline for syllabus completion could adversely affect students, especially in rural and remote schools where teaching began late.
