India-Japan to hold joint Air Exercise 'Veer Guardian-2023'

- India & Japan to hold joint Air Exercise 'Veer Guardian-2023' at Hyakuri Air Base, Japan from 12 to 26 Jan. Indian contingent participating will include four Su-30 MKI, two C-17 & one IL-78 aircraft, while the JASDF will be participating with four F-2 & four F-15 aircraft.
- An IAF contingent will depart tomorrow for Hyakuri Air Base, Japan for the maiden Exercise Veer Guardian 2023 to be held with Japan Air Self Defence Force from 12 to 26 Jan 2023
- IAF will participate with four Su-30 MKI, two C-17 Globemasters & an IL-78 tanker.
- For the first time, an Indian Air Force woman fighter pilot would be part of the Indian contingent for the aerial wargames to be held with outside the country in Japan.
- Indian Air Force (IAF) and Japan Air Self-Defence Force (JASDF) to commence their first ever bilateral wargame from January 16 to January 26.
- Su-30MKI "IndoFlanker" fighter aircraft will be deployed to partner with F-2 "Viper Zero" and F-15J "Kai".
- In furtherance of jointness and inter-operability with the Indian Air Force, Lt Gen AK Singh, #ArmyCommander, #SouthernCommand visited #AirForce Station, Lohegaon Pune and undertook a familiarization sortie in a Su-30 MKI aircraft piloted by Wg Cdr A P Saini
