India, Australia to hold second two plus two Ministerial Dialogue in Delhi

- India and Australia are set to convene their second two plus two Ministerial Dialogue in New Delhi. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will engage in discussions with Australia's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Richard Marles, along with Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
- The agenda for the meetings encompasses a broad spectrum of strategic, defense, and security issues. These deliberations will span bilateral, regional, and global subjects of shared interest, contributing to the advancement of cooperation under the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
- Additionally, the ministers will exchange perspectives on collaborative priorities to reinforce their partnership. The ongoing negotiations regarding the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement are also anticipated to be reviewed.
- The India-Australia relationship has undergone significant growth in recent years, with both nations elevating their bilateral ties from a Strategic Partnership to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2020.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese reciprocally visited each other's countries this year, taking substantial measures to fortify bilateral relations. The inaugural India-Australia two plus two Ministerial Dialogue took place in September 2021.
