Karnataka schools to resume physical classes from Oct 25

The state government has allowed Karnataka schools to resume physical classes for Classes 1 to 5 from October 25 onwards while strictly adhering to Covid-19 safety protocols and the SOPs issued by the Dept of Primary and Secondary Education.

Children will need to bring a consent letter from their parents to attend classes.

Covid-19 protocols that need to be followed in Karnataka schools
Students will be screened for Covid-19 symptoms on entry. No crowding can take place especially during entry and exit.

Only 50% of classroom capacity can be filled at one time. Hand sanitizers need to be provided and one-meter social distancing will be called for where feasible.

On teachers and staff who have taken both doses of Covid-19 vaccine will be allowed to teach students of Classes 1 to 5. Teachers above 50 years of age will also need to wear face shields.

Classrooms and rest rooms will need to be sanitized daily with 1% sodium hypochlorite solution.
