National Merit Scholarship 2024 Application Deadline Extended!

The Ministry of Education, under the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students, Government of India, has announced an extension for the National Merit Scholarship application deadline. The last date for both fresh and renewal applications has been extended to 15th November 2024.

This extension applies to:

• Students who passed the Intermediate Public Examination in 2024 and are applying as fresh candidates.
• Students who were previously selected for the National Scholarship and are now renewing their applications for the academic year 2024-25.
• Additionally, the last date for verification by the Institute Nodal Officer (INO) is 30th November 2024. Applications can be submitted online through scholarships.gov.in.

A list of the top 20th percentile of provisionally selected candidates of IPE 2024, including categories GEN+OBC+SC+ST (total: 59,355), OBC (32,392), SC (8,089), and ST (5,198), is available on the official website tgbie.cgg.gov.in.

In addition to the fresh and renewal applicants, the Ministry of Education has issued revised guidelines for students who missed renewing their National Scholarship Portal (NSP) applications. According to these guidelines:

"Students who missed the renewal of their scholarship application on NSP will be allowed to apply for renewal for the subsequent year, provided they meet the eligibility criteria for renewal."

For these applicants:

• The NIC-NSP system will generate an OTR ID, which will be sent to their registered mobile numbers.
• These students must approach the Ministry online with valid documents to verify their eligibility for renewal.
• After verification, eligible students will be granted renewal for the academic year 2024-25.
