The process of promotion of teachers in four districts of Rayalaseema region has come to a standstill with the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in the wake of the Badvel Assembly by-election in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.

The school education department has directed the district authorities in Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Anantapur districts to suspend the promotion process for teachers as the election rules are in force. The process of promotions be undertaken after the by-election.
