The Higher Education Council will issue a notification for counseling once they receive the seat details from state universities. JNTU Kakinada, a key technical university associated with most colleges in the state, has swiftly completed this process. Under the leadership of University Academic Audit Director Saibabu, the process has been finalized and the report has been sent. Colleges in the unified districts of East, West, Krishna, Guntur, and Prakasam are affiliated with the university.

Preference for CSE

For the 2024-25 academic year, JNTUK has submitted its seat allocation request to the Higher Education Council. Permission has been granted for 63,000 seats across 159 affiliated colleges. Due to the high demand for the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) course, 4,000 seats have been approved based on the facilities of the applying colleges. New courses such as VLSI Design Technology in Electronics Engineering and Advanced Communication Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering have been approved for up to 1,500 seats. Students who could not secure seats in IITs and NITs through JEE Advanced Mains have achieved state-level ranks in AP EAPCET and are now ready to join CSE branches in private universities and A-grade engineering colleges.

Recognition for Colleges with Facilities

The Higher Education Council has mandated that all state universities and colleges should be reviewed online for standards compliance. JNTU Kakinada conducted this review online, recognizing only those colleges that maintain high standards and provide all necessary facilities. Colleges that adhere to these standards are more likely to offer better employment opportunities to students.

Online College Inspections

Under the orders of the Higher Education Council, affiliated college inspections were conducted online. The review covered aspects such as infrastructure, college conditions, facilities, student-teacher ratios, campus conditions, sports facilities, libraries, and labs. Before granting annual affiliations to engineering colleges, a fact-finding committee conducts these inspections. Based on the committee’s recommendations, decisions are made on the number of seats to be allocated to each college. The fact-finding committee’s recommendations are crucial for universities to recognize the number of seats in AICTE-approved engineering colleges. This committee includes university professors and assistant professors as members.
