IIT Guwahati, India Register of Shipping (IRS) inks MoU for training, design, and manufacturing with a core focus on underwater technologies
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and the India Register of Shipping (IRS) have inked a memorandum of understanding, to partner for training, design, and manufacturing with a core focus on underwater technologies. Training, certification programs, and workshops will be jointly run by the IIT Guwahati Technology Innovation and Development Foundation (IITG TIDF) and IRS.
These programs aim to develop qualified human resources and research personnel with competencies that are aligned to the industry in technology relating to underwater design and manufacturing.
Significance of the MoU:
In addition to the development of technology, IIT Guwahati is also working on skill development.
IITG TIDF and IRS are going to work with IRS on training, design, and manufacturing.
The partnership between IIT Guwahati and IRS concerning training and certification programs will help develop technologies for underwater exploration.
The partnership will help IRS by giving it a chance to expand its training and certification programs.
