As > < Like

One reason for the confusion, it is the same word in Telugu for both the expressions.
In English "As" is used when comparing inanimate objectives (ప్రాణం లేనివి). In other words, while making abstract comparisons.
  • It was done as planned.
  • Do as I say!
  • As in war, answer the question paper with a strategy.
  • The price of petrol is going up as that of gold.
Like is used while comparing animate (ప్రాణం ఉన్నవి) objects i.e., while making concrete comparisons.
  • She is like her sister, always smiles.
  • Though the twins look alike, their attitude is not the same.
  • Apes can walk comfortably on two legs like humans.
  • The boy grew quickly like his elder brother.
