DSP Success Story: From Failure to Victory – The Inspiring Journey of Aravind

Family Background & Early Life
Aravind hails from Kadarikonda, Kurnool, where his father, Omkar, is a senior advocate, and his mother, Revathi, is a nursing college principal. His elder brother, Dr. K. Sai Teja, is a doctor, while Aravind pursued his passion for civil services.
Engineering to Civil Services: A Shift in Career Goals
After completing engineering in 2015, Aravind secured a job at TCS through campus placements. However, inspired by SP A.K. Ravikrishna, he set his sights on becoming a civil servant. He joined R.C. Reddy Civil Services Coaching Center in Hyderabad and began his UPSC journey.
Balancing Work & UPSC Preparation
While preparing for UPSC, Aravind worked as a software engineer at Accenture (2016-17) to support his family. During this time, he met Sama Swetha, also a software engineer, whom he later married in 2020.
Failures Didn’t Stop Him – The Road to DSP
- 2017: Cleared Group-1 prelims but failed in mains.
- 2018, 2019, 2020: Reached mains but couldn’t clear the final stage.
- 2020: Took a break from software jobs and fully committed to Group-1 preparation.
- 2019-2022: Worked as a Panchayat Secretary in Kurnool while continuing his studies.
- 2022: Finally cracked AP Group-1 with a top rank and became a DSP.

- Sept 2022 – Oct 2023: Training at Anantapur Police Training Center.
- Nov 2023 – June 2024: Served as Trainee DSP in Bhimavaram, West Godavari.
- 2024-2025: Worked with Vizag Greyhounds.
- Jan 2025: Posted as DSP of Guntur West Sub-Division (Law & Order).
