Telangana's Congress government is committed to restoring the former glory of its libraries, according to Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. The minister made this statement during an event held at the Central Library in Afzal Gunj on August 12 (Monday), commemorating the birth anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. S.R. Ranganathan.

Telangana Jobs 2024: Notification for 1000 Librarian Posts

During a media briefing, the minister assured that details regarding various vacancies in Telangana libraries would be reviewed. He promised to discuss with the Chief Minister and ensure that these positions are included in the job calendar through the Telangana Public Service Commission.

Minister Prabhakar also expressed a commitment to establishing more libraries in Telangana than in Kerala, under the leadership of Telangana Library Council Chairman Riyaz. He has expressed his willingness to cooperate in the development of libraries, responding positively to the minister’s request for support in this regard.

1000 Library Posts to be Notified Soon

Librarian students have requested the Telangana State Public Library Chairman, Dr. Riyaz, to ensure notifications for 1000 library posts in Grade-1, 2, and 3 are issued promptly. At a one-day workshop organized by the Telangana Public Library Development Forum in Hyderabad under Dr. Riyaz's leadership, students made this appeal. They urged that this matter be brought to the Chief Minister's attention and that a notification be issued soon.
