During the launch of the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) skill program at Masab Tank on September 25th, CM Revanth highlighted the struggles of students in securing jobs. “There are approximately 60 lakh unemployed individuals in Telangana, mostly from middle-class families. Despite a decade since Telangana’s formation, unemployment remains a significant issue,” he stated.
Bridging the gap between industries and the unemployed
To tackle this, the government is conducting programs to guide the unemployed, with funds allocated under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for skill development initiatives. These programs aim to train individuals to meet industry needs. CM Revanth expressed concern over the lack of job opportunities leading many unemployed youth towards drugs and marijuana. He stressed the importance of bridging the gap between industries and the unemployed.

“Talent alone isn’t enough; necessary skills are crucial for job opportunities. Recognizing this, we initiated skill training programs. Every year, around 3 lakh students graduate in Telangana, but many struggle to find jobs due to a lack of industry-relevant skills.”
“We have partnered with BFSI to provide industry-matching skills. With their proposals, we have developed a plan to equip students with skills by graduation. I commend BFSI for identifying the problem and funding the necessary skill development programs.”
Post-training, students will be able to secure jobs in the banking, financial services, and insurance sectors. The goal is to provide a skilled workforce to the world. Unfortunately, the past decade’s lack of employment opportunities has driven some youth in Telangana towards drugs and marijuana. “Alarmingly, recent drug-related arrests included engineering graduates. This is a serious issue. Providing employment is crucial to curb drug addiction.”
Few ways to shine in an interview
ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) into Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs)
The CM also mentioned upgrading 65 ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) into Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs) in collaboration with Tata Technologies. Within two years, all ITIs will be transformed into ATCs. Engineering colleges not meeting minimum standards will have their permissions revoked, and polytechnic colleges are also being upgraded. Through the Young India Skill University, students will receive skills training. CM Revanth emphasized making Hyderabad not only an educational hub but also a skills development hub, positioning it as a global destination for technical skills.
Looking ahead, the government plans to establish a Sports University and academies within the next year, aiming to make Telangana a role model for the country.
CM Revanth concluded, “Many Hyderabad Public School alumni have become CEOs of leading global companies. With their support, we will advance the state’s development.”
