The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act protects the rights of international students living in Australia on a student visa. It also has a strong focus on tuition and financial assurance for international students.
A student hotline (1300 363 079) has been set up through which students can raise concerns anonymously. Concerns will be collated and published on www.studyinaustralia.gov.au so all students can benefit from the information.

Students must note that all institutions seeking to enroll international students and their courses must be registered under Australian Govt. Law. This information is publicly available at https://cricos.deewr.gov.au.
If one wants to choose an education agent to assist, check that the agency formally represents the institution(s) in which enrolment is offered. The Australian High Commission does not authorize any agents but supports AAERI (the Association of Australian Education Representatives in India). A list of AAERI member cab found at its website: www.aaeri.org
