Center on ‘NEET’ quota, Supreme notice to MCC
The Center has directed the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) to respond. The bench comprising Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice BV Nagaratna issued notice to this effect. As on July 29, 8 petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court against the notification. Some of them even wrote the 'NEET' PG exam. The petitioners asked the Supreme Court to quash the notification issued by the Center as illegal. He said that seats in PG medical courses were already very limited and it would not be appropriate to replace them on the basis of reservations, which would be a serious injustice to the talented.
