UPSC: Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Exam, 2021

Applications are invited for recruitment to the following posts:
1. Scientist ‘B’ (Geophysicist): 06 Posts
Qualification:
Master of Science degree in Physics or Applied Physics or Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Marine Geophysics or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Technology) (Applied Geophysics) from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
Age Limit (As on 01/01/2021): 21 - 32 years

2. Scientist ‘B’ (Chemists): 03 Posts
Qualification:
M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or other educational Institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed Universities under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 i.e. recognised University.
Age Limit (As on 01/01/2021): 21 - 32 years

3. Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology): 16 Posts
Qualification:
Master’s degree in Geology or applied Geology or Marine Geology or Hydrogeology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
Age Limit (As on 01/01/2021): 21 - 35 years
Fee: Rs.200/-. (No fee for Female/ SC/ ST/ PH candidates).

Plan of Examination: The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan:
  • Stage-I: Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination (Computer Based Objective Type Papers) for the selection of candidates for the Stage-II:
  • Stage-II: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination (Conventional Type Papers); and
  • Stage-III: Personality Test/Interview
