1.What is the major change in the JEE Main 2025 exam format?

Ans:The JEE Main 2025 exam will revert to its original format.   Section B of the exam will now contain 5 questions per subject, and candidates are required to answer all 5 questions. There will no longer be an option to select or skip any questions in this section.

2.Which papers are affected by this change?

Ans:The change applies to all three papers of JEE Main 2025:

  • Paper 1: B.E./B. Tech
  • Paper 2A: B. Arch
  • Paper 2B: B. Planning

3.Will there be any options or choices in answering questions in Section B?

Ans:No, candidates will be required to attempt all 5 questions in Section B for each subject. There will be no optional or selective questions.

4.Why has this change been made to the JEE Main exam?

Ans:This decision comes after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared an end to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency on May 5, 2023. As a result, the optional selection of questions that was introduced during the pandemic has been discontinued, and the exam is reverting to its pre-COVID format.
