UGC directs universities to admit students based on CUET!

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed public and private universities and colleges in the respective states to take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) which is being introduced across the country and offer admissions in the respective courses.
CUET

In this regard, UGC Secretary Rajneesh Jain has written a letter to all varsity vice-chancellors, directors and college principals. He has  asked to consider CUET for admissions to undergraduate (UG) programs from the 2022–23 academic year. Admissions to UG courses are currently being offered through CUET by some central universities.

For the 2022–23 academic year, 45 Central Universities joined the CUET. You can apply online from April 2 to 30 to write the CUET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). If all the states and varsities grant admissions on the basis of this test, students across the country will not have to write multiple entrance exams. Students will have no travel difficulties in applying for each exam, payment of fees, other expenses, coaching errors, and appearing for the exams.

Equal opportunities for students...
The UGC believes that the CUET will provide equal opportunities for all students attending from different inter boards. Public and private universities and other educational institutions in the respective states are required to admit admissions from 2022–23 taking into account the CUET score. The CUET is likely to be held by the NTA in the first week of July. The NTA posted the guidelines on its website on March 27.
