Who is the inspiration behind your success?
My parents, professors, school and college teachers.
Can you tell us in detail how you faced the campus interview right from the written test to facing the interview board?
Written test mainly concentrated on efficiency and accuracy. Time is a main criterion along with how well we know the basics. It’s easy for the most but a bit difficult for a few. Some companies have Group Discussion round as well. Proper preparation as to how to face it must be made. Trying GDs with friends would be helpful. Next, the technical interview round, where they test for our skills in the areas of our interest. If we were confident in 2-3 subjects along with good grip on C programming and data structures, it would be easy. The last round is the HR round, where our communication skills are assessed. A little preparation would be helpful about generally asked questions. The interviews, which I attended, were a good experience for me.
What do you think that fetched the job in the Campus placement?
My self-confidence and study
How many offers did you get and which was your choice?
I was offered job in headstrong with a package of Rs.4 lakhs and in free scale with a package of 9.2 lakhs. I opted free scale.
Which books and material did you refer for your preparation?
RS Agarwal for brushing up quantitative aptitude and my subject books and Ace coaching material
When did you start preparing for the Placement?
From June onwards. Our placements started in September.
What parameters did you keep in mind while selecting a College or a Branch?
Interest matters a lot. Then, the priority is the demand of the Branch. If you are interested in a specific college, teaching of that branch in that college matters a lot.
Branch is an important issue; which decides the career of the student? How did you decide upon the branch selection?
I am interested in CSE very much. So, I chose it.
What do you suggest to a student and why: A seat in a good college or a good branch in a normal college?
Neither. In a particular college if that branch faculty teaches well go for that. Reputed college helps in placements than a normal college.
Can you suggest the Engineering branches, which are in demand with respect to the present job trend?
ECE, CSE and Civil
What do you think is best for a fresh engineer - to pursue MBA or to opt for a job?
To take up a job for two years and pursue MBA next
What skills should students develop during their four years to have a bright career?
Logical thinking and analytical skills
Keeping in view the physical strain, which Engineering branches are suitable for girls?
Now-a-days, girls are doing well in all the branches.
How should an engineering student plan his four years of study for a successful career?
Understand the subject during the lectures. Improve knowledge by reading books and apply them by acquiring new technologies.
Your advice to the engineering aspirants.
Now a days, everyone is doing engineering... but you have to prove yourself to do something bigger...think differently.
