  • Ghana national player and former Newcastle midfielder Christian Atsu has been found alive in the rubble of the powerful earthquake that rocked Turkey and neighbouring Syria on Monday.
  • 31-year-old Atsu joined Turkish Super Lig side Hatayspor in September, based in the southern province of Hatay near the epicentre of the massive quake.
  • Ghana’s ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton told Ghana-based Asaase Radio on Tuesday that, he got the information from the President of the Ghana Football Association that Christian Atsu has been found in Hatay. The envoy gave no further details on his condition.
