  • In the Badminton Asia Championship 2023, the Indian pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy won the men’s doubles title today, defeating eighth-seeded Malaysian pair Teo Ee Yi and Ong Yew Sin in the final.
  • They beat Ong Sin Yew and Teo Ee Yi 16-21, 21-17, and 21-19.
  • It is yet another milestone for India's premier men's doubles duo as they clinch India's second-ever Badminton Asia Championships title after Dinesh Khanna in 1965.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while congratulating the Indian duo, said in a tweet that he is proud of Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty for writing history by becoming the first Indian men's doubles pair to win the Badminton Asia Championships title. The Prime Minister also wished them the very best for their future endeavours.
