The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is promoting research in order to provide human resources for the needs of country's scientific and technical fields. CSIR-UGC NET provides the opportunity for this.
Candidates who have excelled in this examination (which will be conducted twice a year) will also be eligible to serve as lecturer / assistant professor along with JRF. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently issued a notification for June 2020.

Benefits:
Fellowship: CSIR offers a large number of JRFs annually. Candidates selected for excellence in the CSIR UGC NET can receive research fellowships at leading laboratories and institutes in the country. Those who have been selected for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) will receive a fellowship of Rs.31,000 per month for two years. In addition, an annual contingent grant of Rs. 20,000. After completing two years as JRF, if they register for PhD in the third year, they will receive Senior Research Fellowship-SRF of Rs.35,000 per month and other allowances.
Assistant Professor:
With the eligibility through Joint CSIR-UGC NET candidates can become Lecturer / Assistant Professor at Universities and Colleges in the country. Candidates selected for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are also eligible to serve as lecturers / assistant professors at universities and colleges in the country.
Qualifications:
Candidates with Post Graduate Degree in Science and B. Tech / BE / B E/Pharmacy / MBBS / Integrated BS-MS / M. Sc / B. Sc Honors are eligible candidates to apply. 55% for general candidates and 50 marks for others, in relevant subjects.
Applicants for the Junior Research Fellowship should not exceed 28 years of age as of 01 January 2020.
SC / ST / Divyang / Women for 5 years age relaxation and OBC-Non-Creamy layer candidates have three years of age relaxation. There is no age limit for applying for Lectureship / Assistant Professor.
Examination pattern:
CSIR UGC NET Exam is conducted on Computer Based Test (CBT) pattern.
The CSIR-NET exam will be a single paper on selected subject in Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences. The test time is 3 hours. Objective-type questions are given for 200 marks in all three sections (Part-A, B and C).
Part-A (30 marks): This is same for all the subjects. It consists of 20 questions from General Aptitude (Logical Reasoning, Graphical Analysis, Analytical and Numerical Ability, Quantitative Comparison, Series Formation, and Puzzles). The candidate must answer 15 questions of 2 marks each.
Part-B (70 marks): The candidate will be asked 25 to 40 questions related to the selected subject. From this you will need to answer 20 to 35 questions.
Part-C (100 marks): The questions given in this section are to be answered analytically. This includes testing the candidate's scientific knowledge and science applications. Marks in this section have high weightage.
Note: Negative marks for incorrect answers.
How to apply:
Candidate must apply for one subject only for CSIR-UGC NET June -2020.
Candidates can apply online at NTA website csirnet.nta.nic.in . The candidate has to enter all details including phone number and e-mail.

OBC-Non Creamylayer: Rs:500/-
SC / ST: Rs.250/-
There is no fee for divyangs.
