APPSC Jobs Notification for Diploma and B.Tech Graduates; Check Syllabus and Preparation Guidance

Andhra Pradesh Government has issued an advertisement for the recruitment of Assistant Engineer posts in various departments of the Government.
APPSC will recruit 190 posts in all the nine departments through the latest AE notification. Of these 190 posts, 155 are new posts and 35 are Carry Forward posts (which were not filled in the previous notification). Salary range is Rs.31,460 – Rs.84,970.
APPSC AE Notification: Qualifications
- Diploma, BE / BTech candidates are eligible to apply for these AE posts under AP Subordinate Service.
- Must have passed BE / BTech or Diploma with the respective branch as per the post applied for.
Age Limit: Must be between 18–42 years old by July 1,2021. Reserved category candidates will be given relaxation in the maximum age limit as per the rules.
APPSC AE Notification: Selection procedure
The posts of Assistant Engineer (AE) will be filled on the basis of the talent shown by the candidates in the written test. Taking into consideration the marks obtained in the written test, the posts applied for the vacancies available, reservations etc., the final list of candidates will be released and the appointments will be finalized.
APPSC Assistant Engineer (AE) Written Test
The written test is conducted entirely online, as a computer based test. All the questions in this exam are in Objective mode. The question paper will be entirely in English medium.
Paper1: General Studies and Mental Ability: 150Q 150M 150min
Paper 2: Civil / Mechanical: 150Q 150M 150min
Paper 3: Environmental Engineering / Civil: 150Q 150M 150min
Paper-3 is conducted only for Environment / Civil AE posts (Post Code-3) in the Department of Public Health and Municipal Engineering.
Paper 2 is jointly conducted for candidates applying for Civil / Mechanical posts in all branches. This question paper syllabus is at the diploma level.
Negative marking policy will also be implemented. 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
APPSC Assistant Engineer (AE) Written Test: Preparation Guidance
Paper – 1 in General Studies: National, International, Regional Contemporary Topics, General Science, Science and Technology; AP, India History; Politics, Governance; E-Governance policies implemented in AP;
Economic development issues, measures being taken for economic development in AP; Disaster Management; AP, India should focus on Physical Geography.
Similarly, verbal, non-verbal reasoning, arithmetic and data interpretation should be practiced in relation to logical reasoning.
Understand data analysis, data analysis, data design, etc.
Paper-2
This is a joint paper for Civil and Mechanical posts. Candidates should focus on the important aspects of Solid Mechanics and Fluid Mechanics. In the notification it is mentioned that there will be questions at the diploma level. So it is better for the candidates to read Diploma or B.Tech books related to these subjects. In the same way it would also be useful to practice any of these question papers conducted by APPSC in the past.
To excel in Paper-3
In the Department of Public Health and Municipal Engineering, Questions are asked from the Environmental / Civil sections in this paper which is conducted only for these posts in the Environment. Water supply engineering, waste water management, air, noise pollution, Solid Waste Management, Environmental Impact Assessment and Sustainable Development, Water Resources Engineering, surveying, Solid Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Solid Mechanics and Analysis of Structures, Design of Structures, Focus on the highlights of Building Materials and Construction Practice... Mainly Environmental Impact Assessment and Development in the Country for Environmental Protection
