Furthermore, the recruitment of assistant professors will also be managed by APPSC. After a gap of 17 years, these assistant professor positions are finally being filled. There will also be another Group-1 notification before September. Gautham Sawang stated that Group-2 might see a notification with around a thousand vacancies, while Group-1 could have a notification with over a hundred positions. He highlighted that the recruitment process for APPSC will adhere to the UPSC system, resulting in a total of 1,199 job openings.

The Group-1 results are as follows:
"We are unveiling the results for 110 out of the 111 notified positions. The remaining posts will be allocated via the sports quota. The candidates for interviews were selected in a 1:2 ratio. It's noteworthy that the entire Group-1 selection process was accomplished within a record time of 11 months, marking the fastest completion in the history of APPSC. Impressively, among the interviewees, three candidates were from IIM and 15 from IIT. Notably, six of the top ten positions were secured by female candidates. Gautham Sawang revealed that the top three ranks in the top five were achieved by women."

A brief overview of the Group-1 selection process:
The notification for 111 positions was issued on September 30 of the previous year. APPSC conducted the preliminary examination on January 8, and the results were announced just 19 days later, on January 27. Out of the 86,000 individuals who appeared for the prelims, 6,455 qualified for the mains examination. The main exam took place from June 3rd to 10th, resulting in 220 qualifiers for the 111 available positions. Finally, the interviews were held from August 2nd to 11th.
