She ensured Nirmala's enrollment in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), a residential school for girls from underprivileged backgrounds. This timely action by the Collector safeguarded Nirmala's academic future.

Nirmala thrived in the supportive environment of KGBV. Her hard work and dedication paid off as she secured an outstanding 421 marks out of 440 in her Intermediate first-year BiPC (Biology, Physics, and Chemistry) exams, becoming the district topper!
