Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess a degree to be eligible for these positions. In the past, VROs (Village Revenue Officers) and VRAs (Village Revenue Assistants) played key roles in administrative tasks at the village level, including disaster assessments, crop loss estimations, and identifying beneficiaries for government schemes. To strengthen the revenue system at the grassroots level, the government has decided to appoint qualified candidates with a degree for the newly created positions.
New Roles and Responsibilities:
Each village will now have a dedicated Revenue Officer, whose responsibilities will include managing land records, conducting field inquiries for various certificates such as caste and income, and overseeing land surveys. Additionally, they will provide assistance with land surveys, disaster management, and other essential services.
Upcoming ROR Law:
To address farmer-related issues, the government is also planning to introduce a new Record of Rights (ROR) law soon, which will streamline revenue services in villages. Telangana's Revenue Minister, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, stated that the recruitment process is aimed at ensuring each village has a dedicated officer to handle revenue-related matters.
