JEE Main 2025 Application Procedure: Steps to be followed to apply online

The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) comprises of two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E. / B. Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) and Institutions / Universities funded / recognized by participating State Governments. JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country.
JEE Main 2025 Application Procedure: Steps to be followed to apply online

The JEE (Main) - 2025 is being conducted in 02 (two) sessions for admissions in the next academic session.
JEE (Main) - 2025 Session 1 for Paper 1 (B.E. / B. Tech.) will be held between 22 January and 31 January 2025 and Session 2 will be held between 01 April and 08 April 2025 tentatively.

Step 1: Registration Form

  • Register for the Online Application Form and note down the system-generated Application Number.
  • Provide the required details and create a password, select a security question, and enter its answer.
  • After successful submission, an Application Number will be generated for use in all future references.
  • This Application Number is valid for both sessions of JEE (Main) 2025.
  • For future logins, candidates can log in using the system-generated Application Number and created password.

Step 2: Application Form

• Log in with the Application Number and password to complete the form, including personal details, exam paper selection, city preference, educational qualifications, and image/document uploads.
• Upload the following:
o Photograph: Recent, colored, 80% face visible, against a white background, JPG/JPEG format, 10-300 kb.
o Signature: JPG/JPEG format, 10-50 kb.
o Class X Certificate/Marks-sheet: PDF format, 10-300 kb.
o PwD/PwBD Certificate (if applicable): PDF format, 10-300 kb.
• Ensure the images and documents uploaded are correct, as future corrections will not be permitted. Using unauthorized images/documents may be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) Practices.

Step 3: Fee Payment

• Pay the required examination fees online via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.
• Additional processing charges and GST may apply.
• After payment, print the Confirmation Page. If it is not generated, contact the bank for a refund and make another payment.

Important Instructions about Password

• Create a password that is 8-13 characters long, including:
o At least one uppercase letter.
o At least one lowercase letter.
o At least one numeric digit.
o At least one special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*-).
• Keep your password secure and do not share it. The NTA/NIC will not be responsible for misuse.
• You can change your password after logging in.
• Always log out after your session to prevent unauthorized access.
How to reset your Password
• Options for resetting:
o Use the chosen security question and answer.
o Receive a verification code via SMS.
o Receive a reset link via email.
• The Application Number on the Confirmation Page must be referenced in all correspondences.
