New Delhi, Sakshi: The Telangana government received a favorable judgment from the Supreme Court regarding the Group-1 Mains recruitment process. The court dismissed a petition seeking the cancellation of the Group-1 notification, clearing the way for the recruitment to proceed.
A few candidates had challenged the legality of issuing a new Group-1 notification in 2024, arguing that it was improper to disregard the 2022 notification. Additionally, they pointed out 14 alleged errors in the 2024 Group-1 Prelims and requested a postponement of the Mains exams. However, their plea was dismissed by the Telangana High Court, prompting them to approach the Supreme Court. After hearing the case, Justice P.S. Narasimha delivered the verdict today.
The bench observed:
- “None of the petitioners who approached the court passed the Prelims, and therefore, there is no need to postpone the Mains.
- Judicial intervention in the examination process is unnecessary as it would cause significant delays in the recruitment process.”
TGPSC Group-1 Mains Results
With this ruling, the Telangana government has received the approval to proceed with the Group-1 Mains recruitment process. The mains exams were conducted in October 2024. TGPSC officials said that the results will be released in February 2025.
