Initially set for April 10, the deadline for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TS TET) is prolonged. This decision comes amidst pressures from serving teachers and a notable decrease in the number of TET applicants. While 1,93,135 applications have been received so far, the projected expectation of 3 lakhs remains unmet. Recent years have seen declining numbers, with 3.40 lakh applications in 2016, 3.29 lakh in 2017, 3.79 lakh in 2022, and 2.83 lakh in 2023.
TS TET 2024 Important Dates:
- The current deadline is April 10th.
- The revised last date for applications is April 20th.
- TET exam dates remain unchanged (May 20th to June 3rd).
Applications for DSC (Recruitment for Teacher Posts) are also low despite the increased number of vacancies (11,062). New applications are only 37,700 compared to 1.77 lakh last year. TET application deadline extension is also requested to allow time for those qualifying to apply for DSC (July 17th to 31st).

Additionally, the dates for the DSC 2024 exams have been finalized. These exams will be conducted online from July 17th to July 31st.
